The Seminole Burgee :
The Seminole Power Squadron pendant consist of the head of Chief Osceola with seven feathers in red facing aft to threelightning bolts in blue on a white background. Osceola is the most famous of the Seminole Indian Chiefs, from whence comes the name of Seminole County,Florida and the designation of our squadron. The lightning bolts representthe common occurrence of severe electrical storms along the St. John'sRiver which forms the eastern boundry of Seminole County. The seven featherson Chief Osceola's head and the three bolts of lightning indicate '73',the year we became a full fledged squadron of the USPS® and assignedto District 23. Seminole Power Squadron was chartered as the 424th squadronof USPS® on June 14, 1973.

The Seminole Power Squadron (SPS) is a unit of United States Power Squadrons ® Sail and Power Boating organization (USPS).  We are part of District 23 of the USPS. We are located in the beautiful, waterful, Seminole County in Central Florida (between Orlando and Daytona Beach), and are privileged to be at home in one of the most beautiful spots in Florida.

We at the Seminole Power Squadron (SPS) are members of a fraternal boating organization who enjoy boating activities, giving back to the community and continuing our education (in relation to safe boating). Our striving to give back to the community is in direct support to the goals of District 23 and the USPS organization as a whole.
