The Seminole Burgee : The Seminole Power Squadron pendant consist of the head of Chief Osceola with seven feathers in red facing aft to threelightning bolts in blue on a white background. Osceola is the most famous of the Seminole Indian Chiefs, from whence comes the name of Seminole County,Florida and the designation of our squadron. The lightning bolts representthe common occurrence of severe electrical storms along the St. John'sRiver which forms the eastern boundry of Seminole County. The seven featherson Chief Osceola's head and the three bolts of lightning indicate '73',the year we became a full fledged squadron of the USPS® and assignedto District 23. Seminole Power Squadron was chartered as the 424th squadronof USPS® on June 14, 1973.
